Did Bono Say NO To Lisbon?

There usually isn’t a single political subject that U2 frontman Bono doesn’t have a vocalised and serialised opinion on. Yet, he kept his views on The Lisbon Treaty very close to his chest, until now… When we snapped him at the weekend, we reckon he was getting all subliminal on our arses…

The big-wigs in the EU aren’t very happy with the Irish people. Why is that, you say? Well, we have this thing called a ‘democracy’ which allows the legitimate will of the people to create our laws and govern our Nation. And yes, we voted NO to the Lisbon Treaty, which was our democratic right… As a result, the rest of the European Union is pretty pissed off with us because we exercised our democratic right – something no other Nation in the 27 member State got the opportunity to do. Suck it up Brussels…
