EU Commision to launch EU concern “confession cams”
August 6, 2009 by Infowars Ireland
The European Commision is to introduce video booths in Cork City next month as part of their programme of listening events to address the public’s EU concerns. However, the programme got off to a disappointing start in Cork as only seven people attended the first TalktoEU public meeting at the Grand Hotel in Fermoy on Tuesday night.
The meeting was opened by European Commission Representative Eddie McVeigh, who was joined at top-table by Peter Brennan, managing director of EPS Consulting, which is part of the consortium appointed to run the public awareness campaign.
The initiative of local events aims to encourage the public to air their views on EU issues, from Lisbon to school water rates, and have their questions and concerns answered. Events will be scheduled all over the country for the next six to eight months and the programme will launch its official website on 7 August.
