Business owners lose their faith in Cowen and Fianna Fail party

It didn’t take the frontline troops in the Battle of the Somme too long to learn about the hopelessness of their predicament. The same can be said of our country’s business leaders — who in the face of the worst recession in 25 years have lost all faith in the Government.
Support for Fianna Fail among the business community has slumped to a third of what it was this time last year, while support for the Greens has almost halved. Were a general election to be held tomorrow, only one in six small business owners would vote for Fianna Fail, while a measly 2 per cent would vote for the Green Party. This stark finding of the Sunday Independent Business Owners survey, which was conducted over the past three weeks, shows just how low the Government’s popularity has sunk.
When the survey was conducted last year, 53 per cent of business leaders said they would vote for Fianna Fail, while 3.5 per cent said they would vote for the Greens. Read full article…
