Women’s group calls for ‘No’ vote in referendum
September 15, 2009 by Infowars Ireland
A group of feminists from community, political, trade union and academic backgrounds have joined forces to call for a ‘no’ vote in the re-run of the Lisbon Treaty referendum.
The ‘Women Say No to Lisbon’ group says the treaty is about protecting business rights and not people.
The group claims it is not anti-European, but argues that the treaty does not afford any new rights to Irish people.
It also says public services will suffer further as the treaty will introduce the profit motive into areas like health.
