One of Ireland’s largest trade unions is to urge its 60,000 members to reject the Lisbon Treaty.

Unite said it was campaigning against the EU reform deal because of concerns over workers rights.

Jimmy Kelly, the union’s regional secretary, said the government failed to get a legal guarantee on the right to organise and strike. Instead we got a ’solemn declaration’ that is worthless given the way in which the European courts have interpreted workers rights as being subservient to those of business,” he said.

The Israel Defense Forces officer accused of ordering a soldier under his command to shoot a bound and blindfolded Palestinian detainee failed his second polygraph test on Monday, after having passed the first test in a private institute last week. The results of Monday’s lie-detector test, held under the auspices of the military police, prove that Lieutenant colonel Omri Fruberg, commanding officer of IDF regiment 71, lied in his testimony, and suggest he did in fact give order to open fire at the Palestinian detainee. The investigation began after the soldier, who was filmed shooting a Palestinian protester during a demonstration in the West Bank village of Na’alin, said he was just carrying out an order by Fruberg. In the video, Fruberg is shown holding the arm of the Palestinian, Ashraf Abu-Rahama, 27, while a soldier under his command opens fire at close range. Abu-Rahama sustained light wounds to his foot in the incident. The incident in Na’alin was filmed by a Palestinian girl from a window of her home and sent to military authorities by the Israeli human rights group BT’selem in earlu July. The soldier was released from police detention last week and sent back to join his unit after telling investigators that his regiment commander had ordered him to fire.

As the hype, fearmongering and sensationalistic propaganda push regarding the Swine Flu shifts into overdrive, Government health officials are reportedly mobilizing — having set aside $16 million since populations aren’t fearful enough — to launch a massive Swine Flu vaccination campaign aimed at vaccinating at least half of the country’s population within the next couple of months.

Since the outbreak of the suspiciously manipulated Swine Flu Pandemic of questionable origin, Scientists are rushing to test Swine Flu vaccine, allegedly to make sure it’s safe and effective — despite the fact that the U.S. government has egregiously granted the large Pharmaceutical companies who are raking in billions of dollars for hurriedly manufacturing Swine Flu vaccines impunity if recipients of the vaccines die or become deathly ill. Given the potential for disastrous long-term effects from some of the ingredients in some of the Vaccines, rushing to make sure it’s safe and effective only makes matters worse since it can actually take years before you know how safe and effective they really are.

It was originally reported that the Swine flu came from human, swine and bird flu strains, but now it appears that some Scientists may have traced one strain to a strain that emerged in 1998 in the U.S. — unless there is more than one type Swine Flu strain being spread around. With labs as technologically advanced as they are nowadays, especially the government laboratory in Ft. Detrick, Maryland with its list of ties to several acts of malfeasance, many possibilities abound.

It’s not known how many shots people will need, what the correct dosage should be, and gaining public trust in backing the need for such an extensive vaccination plan has become, for the most part, impossible. Every year health professionals start squawking about oncoming flu seasons, and this year is no different, except that the Swine Flu numbers and information is being manipulated to allow the World Health Organization (WHO), shrouded in secrecy, to artifically inflate numbers to create an overblown pandemic.

Some of the major networks, including NBC — and their subsidiary MSNBC — have medical ‘professionals’ such as Dr. Nancy Snyderman pushing for people to line up and get their tainted Swine Flu vaccinations that Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and member of the Bilderberg Group, gave Pharmaceuticals impunity for. Swine Flu Outbreak has Been far Less Deadly than Normal Flu

Snyderman is pushing for vaccinations despite the fact that the Swine Flu outbreak has been far less deadly than the normal flu. Snyderman has been joined by President Obama’s White House in using prominent media, blogs and social networking to push their propaganda and make millions receive extremely questionable vaccines. Federal authorities are planning to initiate a nationwide campaign to persuade Americans to get the Swine Flu vaccines, despite the fact that half of the Health workers polled by the British Medical Journal are reportedly rejecting the Swine Flu vaccines because of the additives being used and the potential side effects they’ll induce.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) continues insisting that the Swine Flu vaccines ’should be safe.’ If they’re so safe, why did HHS Secretary Sebelius give the manufacturers of the vaccines complete immunization and impunity from any reported side effects and deaths? The propaganda being pushed by the government is full of holes and lies.

Heavily populated areas, with a lot of children, teenagers, pregnant women, young and middle-aged adults are being targeted by the Government’s propaganda program. Corporate media has begun admitting that the Swine Flu appears to be no more dangerous than the typical seasonal flu while pushing for vaccinations because the new virus — that, again, was manufactured in a U.S. laboratory — is likely to infect many more people because most have no immunity against it according to health officials. Every year health officials push for flu vaccinations and every year health officials inflate numbers to instill fear and push their propaganda which, so far, has repeatedly proven to be false and misleading. The only difference this year is that pharmaceutical companies are raking in billions of dollars, free of responsibility or blame for reactions and deaths caused by their hurriedly manufactured, improperly tested vaccines.

Vaccines using adjuvants — to boost effectiveness or to create more doses — have been used in Europe. Supposedly the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t authorized their use in the United States, but as history has repeatedly proven, especially during the past eight and a half years, supervision and inspections of these products will be limited or non-existent. Just because the use of adjuvants is not ‘authorized’ in the U.S. does not mean that vaccines containing adjuvants will not be shipped or used in the U.S. Until the ingredients of these vaccines is made public — if it’s ever made public — U.S. recipients of the vaccines will have no clue as to what they’re being injected with. Some of the vaccines are also being produced with Squalene and various derivatives of Mercury which have proven deadly in the past.

As of yet, the Swine Flu vaccine injections are not mandatory in the U.S., unlike some other countries. However, the groundwork for instituting Marshall law and making vaccinations mandatory is in place. Some states such as Massachusetts are going a little overboard though. Allowing the WHO to circumvent procedures and manipulate the numbers in order to create a false Swine Flu pandemic only makes matters worse. EU breaks British budget pledge

European Union officials are preparing to ditch a promise to Britain of a complete review of all EU spending, despite sharp rises in UK payments to Brussels over the next four years.

The overhaul was promised to soften the blow of a deal to cut Britain’s budget rebate, originally won by Margaret Thatcher in 1984 but partly surrendered during a negotiation by Tony Blair in December 2005.

There was an angry reaction when The Sunday Telegraph revealed last weekend that as a result, Britain’s net contribution to the EU is to rise from £4.1 billion this year to an estimated £6.9 billion in 2011 – the equivalent of £257 for each household.

Now the “full and wide-ranging review” of EU spending promised to Mr Blair for this year is being abandoned because officials fear that it would be too contentious – and would disrupt other work which they regard as more important.

A failure to hold the “comprehensive reassessment” of European finances this November will come as an embarrassing blow to Gordon Brown as “progressive percentage reductions” in Britain’s annual EU rebate kick in over the next four years.

The 25-year old British “abatement” was supposed to compensate for the high costs of the EU’s Common Agriculture Policy (CAP), which benefits France, with a large farming sector, at the expense of Britain. During the 2005 negotiation, Mr Blair delayed the first cut in the annual rebate to this year – when a top-level EU review was due to propose reforms to spending.

Mr Blair and Gordon Brown, who was Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time, had hoped that the review “covering all aspects of EU spending, including the CAP” would lead to promises of reductions in farm spending, providing political cover for cutting the rebate and increasing British payments.

However the review, already delayed by several months, has now been cast into serious doubt because of a crowded and sensitive political timetable for the European Commission, which must make the initial proposals. Read full article…

Global Warming: It’s A Myth

Martin McCauley writes: Where has our summer gone? Last August in Britain was the wettest on record. And the winter of 2007 had proven to be the coldest in North America for the last 30 years.

So why is there still all this talk about global warming which is supposed to put our planet in mortal danger? The facts would suggest the exact opposite. I know it is politically incorrect to challenge the established view, promoted by our politicians and many scientists, that global warming exists. However, a good scientist is aware that knowledge always evolves: today’s wisdom becomes tomorrow’s nonsense. And as for politicians, they have an uncanny ability to get things wrong.

Why, you may ask, do I reject the concept of global warming or anthropomorphic climate change? There is simply no hard scientific evidence to prove that it is happening. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its so-called ground breaking report in November 2007 argues that global temperatures have risen by 0.7 degrees Celsius since 1880. The problem with this is that there were not many thermometers around in 1880 and, even more importantly, they were not standardised. Many assumptions were made in calculating an average.

In order to ensure that their calculations are reliable scientists aim for a P (probability of error) of 0.05 or 5 per cent. If they are under 0.05 it means the results are not due to mere chance. In the case of global warming the P value is 800. This means that there is no direct link between the data and the conclusions that were made. This renders the IPCC study useless from a scientific point of view. But even despite this many scientists proceed to lay down instructions for policy makers.

What evidence do the doom and gloom mongers present to support their argument that global warming is taking place? Well, they say that the Arctic ice is at its lowest level for thousands of years. This has led to the Northwest Passage in Canada becoming free of ice. The problem with this is that the Northwest Passage was open in the 19th century and in the 1930s. The Canadian government is about to launch a search operation for two British ships, captained by Sir John Franklin, with 128 men on board, which sank in an attempt to sail through the Passage in 1845-48.

Then there is the problem of carbon dioxide (CO2). Mankind produces about 4 per cent of the atmospheric CO2 in any given year. The natural variation in CO2 is higher than the total CO2 production of humankind. There is no evidence that CO2 causes temperatures to rise. Indeed, the evidence points to elevated temperatures raising CO2.

What about the question of the shrinking ozone layer? We are told that there is a huge hole up there and that it is growing all the time. Actually, the hole in the ozone layer may always have been there. Who knows when it first formed? There is no reliable scientific data to answer this question. Read full article…

Obama Depicted as Zombie in Comic Book

Editor’s note: The Telegraph links the comic book to the Obama Joker poster, although Alex Jones and the poster contest is not mentioned by name. It remains to be seen if the artists and publisher will be denounced as racists.

Political opponents have portrayed the US president in a new comic series named as a play on words with the popular horror franchise Resident Evil.

The new progression of comic books see a “heavily-armed Barack” fight with and alongside fellow politicians such as former Republican Vice President Candidate Sarah Palin, Republican President Nominee John McCain and Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State.

In the comic Mr Obama crash-lands Air Force One in Washington to find the city has been taken-over by zombies, all infected by a virus originating from swine flu.

He finds himself being saved by political rival Mrs Palin, renamed ‘Paladin’, as well as former presidential opponent Mr McCain, nicknamed ‘McPain’.

The trio are led by Paladin towards the White House where they meet a, somewhat crazed Hillary Clinton chewing on Zombie flesh.

The zombie hunters also encounter other politicians such as former President George W Bush, who is pictured eating his own brain.

Activist with Irish Friends of Palestine Against Lisbon arrested in Galway yesterday

“The Garda was clearly overstepping his authority in arresting him”

On Saturday 29th August, the indefatigable activist Tommy Donnellan of IFPAL (Irish Friends of Palestine Against Lisbon) was arrested on the street in Galway while engaged in legitimate advocacy for the Palestinian cause, and against the Lisbon Treaty that will set in formaldehyde the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy that is so detrimental to that cause

Tommy was peacefully distributing leaflets and collecting signatures when he was approached by a couple of elderly and angry Israeli tourists. The man took exception to the IFPAL placard which displays the incontrovertible message that the Israeli Occupying Forces killed some 300 children when they invaded Gaza last December and January, a figure that the Zionist tourist claimed was false.

Tommy sought to engage the ranting gentleman in “democratic discussion”, but to no avail. Eventually the Israeli summoned a youthful Garda who, without seeking to establish the facts of the matter, instructed Tommy to discontinue his legitimate advocacy and move away from the area. Tommy – who, to the great annoyance of the Garda, continued filming while arguing with him – refused on principle to move from the spot.

A polite and well-spoken American (or Canadian?) couple, who had witnessed the whole thing, sought to convince the Garda that Tommy was in fact the injured party, having been subjected to abuse and intimidation by the Israelis. The Garda was less interested in their evidence than in trying to prevent Tommy from filming this dialogue, and at last announced that he was arresting the intrepid activist “under Section 24 of the 1994 Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act for an Offence under Section 8 of the 1994 Criminal Justice Public Order Act.”

A little research reveals that Section 24 of this Act allows a Garda to arrest without warrant a person (presumed male) who “fails or refuses to give his name and address when demanded, or gives a name or address which the member has reasonable grounds for believing is false or misleading.” Section 8 deals with “failure to comply with direction of [a] member of Garda Siochana” if that member directs the person to desist from acting in such a manner as (according to Section 7 of the Act) “in a public place to distribute or display any writing, sign or visible representation which is threatening, abusive, insulting or obscene with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.”

Clearly, however, Tommy’s “writing, sign or visible representation” represented a truthful account of Israel’s crimes, which constitute the real abuse, insult, and obscenity. Indeed this same material has been displayed in a number of Irish towns and cities over the last month without exciting hostility from the police. Furthermore, Tommy was not asked his name and address, hence didn’t fail or refuse to give it. The Garda was clearly overstepping his authority in arresting him, and would have been better occupied in arresting the male Israeli tourist whose “intent to provoke a breach of the peace” was so obvious to the two visitors from North America!

That the police officer didn’t have a leg to stand on was proved by Tommy’s subsequent release without charge. What was involved here, in fact, was a piece of blatant harassment of a political activist engaged in legitimate advocacy of a cause perceived as just by the majority of Irish people, at the behest of a couple of irate tourists from the criminal Israeli state. No doubt the representative of the forces of “public order” was also eager to strike a blow against critics of the Lisbon Treaty, to which the Irish state is so bullishly committed.
